Simple Joys to Boost Summer Endorphins

Summer is the chance for us to unplug and do things that bring us joy, boosting those summer endorphins!

As you close your eyes, take note of what the breeze feels like. Let the sunshine rays kiss your skin. Take in the smell of freshly cut grass and how it feels to walk barefoot in the yard.

These are the simplicities of rejuvenation. We tend to overcomplicate what happiness is or should feel like. We commonly have unrealistic expectations to reach in order to feel fulfilled. However, we encourage you to take note of the now and bring gratitude forward – just as you are. Just as your surroundings are. Take note of all you have in the now.

Life can seem too busy, making us feel stuck in our routine of obligations. However, all it can take is a walk out the door to shift your focus to something simple and fulfilling.

Here are some ways to engage in activities that bring you joy:

  • Listen to music

  • Begin a new book series

  • Schedule a coffee & walk date

  • Visit a new park or trail

  • Go for a bike ride or roller-skate

  • Jump rope, hula hoop, or do something that you enjoyed as a kid

  • Enjoy alone time by sitting outside in silence (if you can find any!)

  • Plant new flowers in your yard

  • Play a game of solitaire

  • Add to your porch or patio décor

  • Bring your yoga mat outdoors and stream a class of your choice

These may seem like no-brainers, but sometimes, we need a little reminder that activities don’t have to involve a screen or cost a thing!
